A tool box is nothing but a box to carry different kinds of werkzeug (tool in English). Instead of carrying tools separately it looks cleaner and organized when it is neatly arranged in a box. A toolbox can be made up of plastic, any kind of metal or even wood. Also the inside arrangement of a toolbox depends on who is using the toolbox. Although there are certain tools which are commonly used by everybody, some specific tools are added for a particular profession.
A toolbox looks like a chest from outside. It has a hinged cover and also has a handle which makes it easier to carry. Also some toolboxes are there which are open and does not have a lid. Inside of a toolbox is divided into various compartments. In case of a bigger toolbox there may be layers of compartments which make it easier to store a werkzeug (tool in English) at one place. A toolbox contains compartments to accommodate big tools like range, plus, drills and also as small tools like screws and nut bolts.
There are few common tools that a toolbox carries. They are – drilling machine, different kinds of drill, measuring tape, plus, razor knife, screws and nails. A carpenter’s toolbox has extra tools like a chalk line, angles, saw, pencils, wood chisels and hammer. A plumber’s toolbox on the other hand contains tools like a plunger, toilet auger, Teflon tape, adjustable wrench, pliers and gloves.
Thus we see that a toolbox can be customized according to the need of the person using it. It is always advisable to keep a toolbox at home so that in case of any small repairs or adjustments, one need not call for the mechanic. A basic toolbox carries more or less all the tools that can be needed in a house. |
